Exit airport - Follow green signs for Milsno - After approximately 14 kms take exit for A8 always in Milano (green signs) - Exit A8 for A9 in direction Como/Chiasso - Exit Como/Chiasso after road toll for COMO SUD - Follow signs for CENTRO - From center of Como, follow signs for Bellagio, follow lakeside road for 35 kms to Bellagio (lake will be on your left hand side).

Exit airport - Follow signs for Milano onto four landed wide avenue, keep on right - Exit for Vimercate/Lecco/Venia/Tangenziale Est - Follow highway for approximately 15 mns - at road toll follow signs for Lecco - Continue straight following main road in direction Lecco - Do not crosso bridge into Lecco - At roundabout take second exit for Bellagio - Follow lakeside road for 21 kms to Bellagio (lake will be on your right hand side).

The quickest and easiest way to get to Bellagio from airports or railway stations is by private transfer. Your driver will meet you outside the Customs Area and transport you directly to your hotel/apartment.

FROM MALPENSA AIRPORT:
Option 1) Train to Como:
Step 1 - Milan-Malpensa / Saronno
"Malpensa Express" is a train leaving from Malpensa Terminal 1 (below the Ground Floor / Arrivals area) to Saronno. Purchase your ticket to Como Laghi/Lago.
First train departs at 6:53am. Last train departs at 9:53pm.
Frequency: approximately every two hours.
Journey time from Malpensa to Saronno: 35 minutes.
Cost of ticket: € 9,20 1st class € 8,10 2nd class per person from airport to Como
Step 2 - Saronno / Como
Change trains at SARONNO
First train departs at: 6:04am. Last train departs at: 9:34pm.
Frequency: Connecting trains to Como every 30 minutes.
Journey time from Saronno to Como: 20 minutes.
Step 3 - Como / Bellagio
There are different travel options to get to Bellagio from Como Laghi railway station:
a) Bus (easiest & cheapest)
Buses depart from the bus station opposite the railway station. Tickets from the bus station ticket office.
First bus departs at 6:25am. Last bus departs at 8:14pm.
Frequency: approximately every two hours.
Journey time to Bellagio: 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Cost of ticket: € 2,70.
Bus stop in Bellagio is by the Post Office, opposite the car ferry landing stage.
b) b) Boat or Hydrofoil: (hydrofoil is the quickest means of lake transport)
5 minute walk to the lakefront and boat ticket office (Cross the road to the lake opposite the station and turn left). Tickets to be purchased prior to boarding.
First hydrofoil to Bellagio: 7:33am. Last hydrofoil to Bellagio: 7:10pm.
Frequency: Every two hours - they are more frequent at lunchtime and early evening.
Journey time: 40/50 minutes.
Cost of ticket: €11,20 per person.
First boat to Bellagio: 9:20am. Last boat to Bellagio: 3:10pm.
Frequency: Infrequent service.
Journey time: 2 hours.
Cost of ticket: € 7,90 per person.
c) Taxi
You can book a taxi from Bellagio which will meet you at the arrival platform in the station. See above for details about car companies.
Option 2) Airport Bus from Malpensa to Varenna

FROM LINATE AIRPORT:
Step 1 - Linate / Milan Central Station:
Starfly Bus to Milan Central Station - tickets to be purchased inside the airport terminal near the Arrivals area.
First bus: 5:40am. Last bus: 9:35pm.
Frequency: Every 30 minutes.
Journey time: 30 minutes.

Step 2 - Milan Central Station / Varenna
The bus stops at Milan Central Station from where there are train services Varenna (on the eastern coastline, opposite Bellagio). * Please note that the final destination of the train is indicated and not the intermediate stops. For trains to Lecco and Varenna the final destination is Sondrio or Tirano.
First train: 05:02. Last train: 9:08pm.
Frequency: Trains from Milan to Lecco and Varenna approx. every 2 hours.
Journey time: approx. 1 hour 10 minutes.
Cost of ticket: € 7,45 1st class € 4,95 2nd class per person

If you decide to get off at Lecco, you can take a bus from outside the railway station to Bellagio.

Step 3 - Varenna / Bellagio
From Varenna to Bellagio, exit the station and either take a taxi to the boat landing stage (approx. cost €7) or turn left and walk down the numerous steps to the road at the bottom. To avoid steps you can follow the normal road. Turn right until you come to a crossroads (there’s a bar on the right hand corner). Turn left and cross the road – you are now on the main road. Take the immediate right hand turning and walk down towards the lake. At the bottom, turn left and you’ll see the boat ticket office on the right. It will take max 15 min. on foot.
There is a choice of either boats or car ferries from Varenna to Bellagio – both are 15 minute crossings and the only difference is the different point of arrival in Bellagio. The ferry and boat landing stages in Bellagio are within a 5 minute walk of each other right in the centre of the historical part of the town.

FROM BERGAMO ORIO AL SERIO AIPORT:
Step 1 - Bergamo airport / Bergamo railway station
Shuttle Buses for Bergamo railway station depart from outside the Arrivals Terminal, Bus stop no. 814. Tickets to be purchased at the Bergamo Tourist office inside the terminal. The office is open in Italian office hours. The bus stops at the railway station.
First bus: 6:12am Last bus: 00:15am
Frequency: Every 30 minutes
Journey time: 15/20 minutes
Cost of ticket: € 1,90
Step 2 - Bergamo Station / Lecco
Tickets to Lecco to be purchased at the ticket office and validated in the yellow machines at the end of the platform or near the ticket office

Step 3 - Lecco / Bellagio
The buses to Bellagio leave from outside the railway station.
The journey lasts about 50/60 minutes:
Unfortunately the service is not very frequent.

If you do not find any good connection please go to step nr. 4
Step 4 - Lecco / Varenna
If you decide to go from Bergamo to Varenna, buy the ticket to Varenna at the Bergamo railway station. Change train at Lecco (use underground passageway – it is prohibited to cross on the railway tracks) and await connecting train to Varenna

Cost of the ticket 4,10 euro per person.
Step 5 - Varenna / Bellagio

IMPORTANT:
Train tickets must always be purchased before travel. You must stamp your tickets in the yellow machines usually to be found at the end of the platform. During your journey, an inspector will check your tickets and if you are found without a ticket or an unstamped ticket, you will be fined.
FROM LUGANO AGNO AIRPORT TO LUGANO DOWNTOWN:
Shuttle bus service from the Airport Lugano Agno to Lugano downtown. The service is not very frequent, you can find information on: www.shuttle-bus.com tel. 0041.79.2214243. From Lugano there is a bus service to Menaggio and from Menaggio a boat service to Bellagio.

- WITH YOUR OWN CAR OR BY HIRE CAR:
FROM MALPENSA AIRPORT: Leave the airport – Follow green signs for MILANO – After approx. 14 km take the exit for the A8 (direction Milano – follow the green signs). Leave the A8 to join the A9, direction COMO/CHIASSO. Leave the motorway at the COMO SUD exit. Follow signs for the centre (CENTRO) of Como and then the road to the lake for 35 km to Bellagio.
FROM LINATE AIRPORT: Leave the airport – Follow signs for MILANO. You will come to a four-lane road. Keep to the right and exit at VIMERCATE/LECCO/VENEZIA/TANGENZIALE EST. Follow the highway for around 15 minutes. At the toll booth, follow signs for LECCO – Continue straight and stay on the main road to Lecco. Don’t cross any bridges towards the town of Lecco. At the large roundabout, take the second on your right and follow the road to the lake for 21 km to Bellagio.

IMPORTANT Please note that the Como – Bellagio road (32 Km) is prohibited because it is not wide enough for large coaches over 10 metres long with 50 seats. There are four other ways to reach Bellagio depending on where you are coming from:
FROM LECCO:
- 1) Lecco – Bellagio, 22 Km. A road alongside the lake that is not very wide, but is accessible even for large coaches.
- 2) From Lecco, head towards Varenna (25 Km) where you can take the ferry to Bellagio (coaches and/or passengers only) or travel by boat or hydrofoil (passengers only). Coaches are not necessary for visiting the centre of Bellagio. For times and prices see the website : www.navigazionelaghi.it
FROM COMO:
- 3) Como – Tramezzo, 20 Km. Hydrofoils and boats leaves from Tramezzo and ferries and boats leave from Cadenabbia (21 km), cross the lake and arrive in Bellagio. Coaches are not necessary for visiting the centre of Bellagio. For times and prices please see the website: www.navigazionelaghi.it .
FROM COMO TO LECCO:
- 4) From Como or Lecco head towards Erba, Asso, Magreglio and Civenna. You can reach the centre of Bellagio by crossing the mountainous part (Erba – Bellagio 25 Km). The road is in good condition and has a pleasant view.
The car park for buses in Bellagio is situated alongside the lake, just after the entrance to the gardens of Villa Melzi, where there are also public toilets. You can reach the centre of the town on foot in approx. 3 minutes.
