C136 Asso - Bellagio | The new road to Milan

New Fast Connection Between Bellagio and Milan: Bus + Train Line via Asso Now Active

A new regular, efficient, and eco-friendly connection between Bellagio and Milan is now available—offering a real alternative to the congested routes via Como and Lecco.

The service combines bus and train travel, making it easy and comfortable to reach Milan Cadorna from Bellagio (and vice versa), while avoiding traffic and reducing travel stress.

How does the connection work?

C136 Bus: Bellagio to Asso Station
The bus departs from Bellagio and passes through Civenna, Magreglio, and Barni before reaching Asso Station. The journey takes less than one hour.
The line runs on weekdays with departures approximately every hour from 8:40 AM to 7:40 PM, and offers three services on Sundays and public holidays.
Schedule variations apply in August (see attached timetable).

Train: Asso to Milan Cadorna
After a short wait of about 10 minutes at Asso Station, travelers can board a direct train to Milan Cadorna, with a travel time of about 1 hour and 20 minutes and hourly departures.

From Milan Cadorna to Malpensa Airport
Once in Milan, passengers can continue directly on the Malpensa Express, without changing stations, to conveniently reach the airport.

Why choose this alternative?

  • Less traffic, less stress: Ideal for avoiding congested roads.

  • More sustainable: Reduces the use of private vehicles and environmental impact.

  • Less crowded: Still relatively unknown, so quieter than traditional routes.

  • Perfect for residents, tourists, and commuters: Great for those without a car and for daily travel.

  • Worth supporting: The more it’s used, the higher the chances it will be maintained even after the Lecco–Tirano rail line reopens.

This new transport option adds value to the region, improving connectivity and quality of life for both residents and visitors.

We encourage everyone—tourism operators, locals, commuters—to actively promote this connection in their communications and recommendations on how to reach Bellagio.
